Department of Social Science Education Lecturer Conducts Young Entrepreneurship Training at SDN Sungai Lakum 1
Banjar, December 4, 2025 — SDN Sungai Lakum 1, Kertak Anyar District, Banjar Regency, became the venue for a Community Service Program conducted by Raihanah Sari, M.Pd, a lecturer from the Department of Social Science Education, FKIP, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM), on Thursday (December 4, 2025). The activity was entitled “Young Entrepreneurship Training: School Mini-Business for Learning Values and Profit” and was attended by students and teachers of the school.
The program was officially opened by the school principal, Nazaruddin, S.Pd., M.Pd, who expressed his appreciation for the implementation of the training. He emphasized the importance of strengthening character, creativity, and life skills from an early age. According to him, introducing entrepreneurship at the elementary school level is a strategic step in shaping an independent and innovative generation.
The training aimed to introduce the basic concepts of entrepreneurship to students in a simple and enjoyable way. Through this activity, students learned about the value of goods, the process of gaining profit, the importance of business planning, and teamwork in running a school mini-business. These concepts are expected to foster creative thinking and build self-confidence among students.
In the main session, Raihanah Sari, M.Pd delivered material on the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, how to generate simple product ideas, determine value and selling prices, and develop strategies to gain profit through mini-business activities. The presentation was conducted interactively, enabling students to actively engage and easily understand the material. Students were then given the opportunity to design their own school mini-business as a simulation of entrepreneurial understanding.
The activity ran enthusiastically, as reflected in the active participation of the students throughout the training. Teachers of SDN Sungai Lakum 1 were also involved in the mentoring process and expressed their hope that similar activities could continue as a sustainable school program. They considered the training beneficial in strengthening students’ financial literacy and character development.
This community service activity has had a positive impact on the school environment. Students gained more applicable learning experiences, while the school received inspiration to develop entrepreneurship-based active learning programs. Through this initiative, values of independence, creativity, and responsibility were directly instilled in students through real practice and simple business simulations.
The program concluded with a group photo session between the school representatives and the community service team as a symbol of collaboration and commitment to continuing educational programs that benefit the world of education. The Young Entrepreneurship Training is expected to serve as a starting point for the development of innovative learning activities that are relevant to the needs of 21st-century competencies at SDN Sungai Lakum 1.
