Official Handover of Teaching Assistance Students to SMPN 3 Banjarmasin

Banjarmasin, January 23, 2026 — Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) officially handed over students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education to its partner school, SMPN 3 Banjarmasin. The handover ceremony was held at the Hall of SMPN 3 Banjarmasin and was attended by the Principal, Vice Principals, Field Coordinator Lecturer, School Coordinators, Supervising Teachers, and Teaching Assistance students.

This activity marked the formal commencement of the Teaching Assistance Program, which serves as an integral part of the learning process and the development of students’ professional competencies as prospective educators.

The handover was conducted by Asdini Sari, M.Pd., as the Field Coordinator Lecturer, and was officially received by Ahmad Riyadi, M.Pd., the Principal of SMPN 3 Banjarmasin. A total of 10 students were assigned to the school, consisting of three students from Social Science Education, five students from Mathematics Education, and two students from Performing Arts Education.

In his remarks, the Principal of SMPN 3 Banjarmasin expressed his appreciation to Universitas Lambung Mangkurat for entrusting the school as a partner institution. He also conveyed his hope that the students would gain valuable experiences and develop their professional skills throughout the program.

The Teaching Assistance Program is scheduled to run from January to June 2026. During this period, students are not only involved in classroom teaching practices but also assigned to various school administrative duties, including student daily duty supervision and serving as classroom or school activity supervisors. These responsibilities are carried out in rotation among all participating students.

Through this program, students are expected to gain comprehensive insights into school operations beyond classroom instruction. The Teaching Assistance Program is designed to provide meaningful learning experiences that strengthen students’ understanding of the teaching profession and school management.

The participating students expressed high expectations of gaining valuable experience as preparation for their future careers as teachers. Under the direct guidance of experienced supervising teachers, students are expected to acquire practical knowledge and skills that may not be fully obtained through classroom lectures at the university.
