Merdeka Curriculum Materials Strengthen the Understanding of Social Science Teaching Assistant Students

Banjarmasin, January 8, 2026 — The Department of Social Science Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM), provided Merdeka Curriculum enrichment materials for students participating in the Teaching Assistant Program for the Even Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The activity was held in Lecture Room 39 of FKIP ULM and attended by undergraduate students of the Social Science Education Study Program.

The session was delivered by Jumriani, S.Pd., M.Pd., who explained that the curriculum is a set of learning plans that is dynamic and continuously develops in response to the demands of the times. She emphasized that the implementation of learning in schools must refer to the national curriculum while also being adapted to institutional policies and the specific characteristics of each educational unit.

In addition, students were introduced to the concept of the hidden curriculum, which plays an important role in shaping students’ character through school culture, daily habits, and everyday interactions within the learning environment. During this session, students were guided to understand the preparation of the Annual Program (Prota) and the Semester Program (Promes), including how to calculate effective learning weeks as a foundation for systematic and well-planned instructional design.
