Banjarmasin — The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM), officially conducted the handover and opening ceremony of the Teaching Assistance Program at SMP Negeri 9 Banjarmasin on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. This activity marked the commencement of the implementation of the Teaching Assistance Program for FKIP ULM students at partner schools as part of strengthening the competencies of prospective educators.
The students participating in the Teaching Assistance Program at SMP Negeri 9 Banjarmasin come from five study programs, namely Social Science Education, Mathematics Education, Performing Arts Education, Pancasila and Civic Education, and Computer Science Education. The involvement of students from diverse academic backgrounds is expected to contribute positively to supporting the teaching and learning process as well as academic activities at the school.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Principal of SMP Negeri 9 Banjarmasin, the field coordinator lecturer, and supervising teachers who will mentor the students throughout the Teaching Assistance Program. In his welcoming remarks, the Principal of SMP Negeri 9 Banjarmasin expressed his appreciation and warm welcome to the FKIP ULM students. He emphasized the importance of students actively supporting classroom instruction, adapting to the school environment, and upholding ethics and professionalism as future educators.
The Teaching Assistance Program is an integral part of experiential learning implementation, providing students with opportunities to apply educational knowledge gained during their academic studies. Through this program, students are expected to develop pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competencies through direct involvement in classroom instruction and school administrative activities.
The implementation of this program also serves to strengthen collaboration between FKIP ULM and SMP Negeri 9 Banjarmasin as a partner school. This synergy is expected to generate mutual benefits, both in improving the quality of education at the school and in enhancing students’ competencies as prospective teachers prepared to face future educational challenges.
With the commencement of the Teaching Assistance Program at SMP Negeri 9 Banjarmasin, FKIP ULM reaffirms its commitment to producing graduates who excel academically, possess strong professional character, and are equipped with meaningful field-based teaching experience.
