Banjarmasin, January 22, 2026 — SMP Negeri 6 Banjarmasin officially hosted the handover ceremony for Teaching Assistance (Asistensi Mengajar/AM) students for the 2026 program. The event was conducted in a solemn and orderly manner and marked the beginning of the implementation of the Teaching Assistance Program for the year 2026.
The handover was officially led by Muhammad Elmy, M.Pd., the Teaching Assistance Coordinator Lecturer for SMPN 6 Banjarmasin, and warmly received by the Principal of SMP Negeri 6 Banjarmasin, Faisal Rachman, S.Pd., M.Pd., accompanied by members of the teaching staff and supervising teachers for the Teaching Assistance Program.
In his remarks, the Head of the Teaching Assistance student group, Muhammad Aufar Athala from the Department of Social Science Education, expressed gratitude to Allah SWT and sent blessings to Prophet Muhammad SAW. He also conveyed his sincere appreciation to all parties who contributed to the successful organization of the handover activity.
The Teaching Assistance Program is a compulsory program for students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP). The program aims to develop students’ pedagogical competencies and soft skills through direct teaching practice in schools under the guidance of supervising teachers. In addition, the program serves as a platform for students to apply learning theories acquired during their university studies, particularly those gained from the Micro Teaching course.
Teaching Assistance students assigned to SMP Negeri 6 Banjarmasin come from four departments within the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM), including students from the Social Science Education Program. Their presence is expected to contribute positively to the teaching and learning process, enhance the quality of education, and strengthen institutional cooperation between Universitas Lambung Mangkurat and SMP Negeri 6 Banjarmasin throughout the implementation of the 2026 Teaching Assistance Program.
