Banjarmasin—Students of the Social Studies Education program at Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) had a valuable opportunity on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, to attend a practitioners’ lecture on tourism with the theme “Tourism Potential and Opportunities in Wetlands”. The lecture was held in Room 114 of ULM’s Postgraduate Building from 11:00 to 12:30 WITA, led by Mr. Trimulyono, S.Pd, SST.Par., a seasoned tourism expert and tour guide based in Banjarmasin.
The goal of this practitioners’ lecture was to broaden students’ understanding of the potential and opportunities in Indonesia’s tourism sector, particularly in wetland areas. This session serves as an additional class under the Social Studies Education program, designed to deepen students’ insights into tourism management and the unique aspects of local destinations.
Guided by lecturer Ms. Rusmaniah, M.Pd., the sessions delve into various aspects of tourism potential and sustainable sector development.
One student, Halimah, expressed her excitement about the lecture: “I’m very happy to gain new and profound insights into tourism,” she said. Students were enthusiastic about each session, hoping to expand their knowledge and explore Indonesia’s diverse tourism offerings.
