Banjarmasin, January 27, 2026 — Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) officially handed over students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) to its partner school, SMP Negeri 1 Banjarmasin. The handover ceremony was held at the Biology Laboratory of SMP Negeri 1 Banjarmasin and was attended by the Acting Principal, Mr. Faridal Eddy Miharto, M.Pd., the Field Coordinator Lecturer, Dr. Hj. Noor Fajriah, M.Si., the School Field Coordinator Teacher, Ms. Nurul Herliani, S.Pd., supervising teachers, as well as teaching assistance students. This activity marked the beginning of the Teaching Assistance program as part of the learning process and competency development of students.
The official handover was carried out by Dr. Hj. Noor Fajriah, M.Si., as the Field Coordinator Lecturer, and was formally received by Mr. Faridal Eddy Miharto, M.Pd., as the Acting Principal of SMP Negeri 1 Banjarmasin. A total of 14 students from various study programs participated in this program, consisting of three students from Social Studies Education, three from Mathematics Education, three from Pancasila and Civic Education, three from Educational Technology, and two from Performing Arts Education.
During her briefing, the School Field Coordinator Teacher, Ms. Nurul Herliani, S.Pd., explained that students would be assigned to assist learning activities, support administrative tasks in the school office and library, and contribute to various school activities. Coordination related to facilities and infrastructure, such as projectors and other equipment, would be directed to the designated staff, while administrative matters would be handled by the coordinator teacher. Curriculum-related matters would be coordinated further. Routine evaluations would be conducted every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, while Fridays would be filled with activities such as Clean Friday, Healthy Friday, and similar programs. Daily activities would begin at 07.30 WITA, and students were expected to be present at school by 07.15 WITA.
The Teaching Assistance program at SMP Negeri 1 Banjarmasin is scheduled to run from January 27 to June 5, 2026. Throughout the program, students will not only conduct classroom teaching practice but will also be assigned tasks related to school administration, extracurricular activities, library management, learning evaluation, and daily duty supervision. These responsibilities will be carried out alternately by all teaching assistance students.
Through this program, students are expected to gain meaningful experiences and valuable learning opportunities beyond classroom instruction. The Teaching Assistance program serves as a platform for students to grow, develop professionally, and broaden their perspectives within the field of education, while also contributing positively to the school community, teachers, and students from the beginning until the end of the program.
