Vesak is a sacred moment that commemorates three significant events in the life of Siddhartha Gautama—the Buddha: his birth, enlightenment, and passing. The noble teachings of the Buddha, which emphasize compassion, peace, and wisdom, continue to inspire us all to live in harmony and mutual respect.
May this year’s Vesak celebration bring peace, joy, and spiritual enlightenment to all, and may it strengthen our shared commitment as members of the academic community to build a civilized and socially just society.
