On Friday, June 28, 2024, the Social Science Education Study Program of FKIP ULM traveled to Malang with the aim of carrying out field work practice assignments. On the second day, the participants were presented with an amazing adventure at Jatim Park 2, Batu City. Jawa Timur Park 2 was built in the unfortunate area of Jatim Park 2 consists of the Animal Museum, Batu Secret Zoo and Pohon Inn Hotel.
Batu Secret Zoo and Animal Museum are managed by Jawa Timur Park Group, located at Jalan Oro-Oro Ombo No. 9, Temas, Batu District, Batu City. Precisely located in Jatim Park 2.
While in Malang, Social Science education students visited the Batu Secret Zoo in the city of Batu. Batu Secret Zoo is a tourist attraction and modern zoo located in Batu City, East Java. Batu Secret Zoo, which is located on 14 hectares of land, is part of Jatim Park 2, in addition to Pohon Inn and the Animal Museum. Several collections of animals from various habitats mostly from Asia and Africa can be found in this zoo, including white lions, African deer, macau birds, and various reptiles.
Batu Secret Zoo has various species from all parts of the world, such as Lions from Africa, Elephants from Sumatra, and so on. There is also a Giant Wheel, Log Flume, Kids Zone, River Adventure, and others as facilities and playgrounds for visitors.
Then Museum Satwa is a recreation area located in Batu City, East Java. This tourist attraction is located about 20 km west of Batu City and is now one of the new icons of East Java tourism. This museum presents preserved animals and ancient fossils imported from various countries on all continents, such as the Americas, Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, the Arctic and Antarctica. In accordance with the purpose of its establishment, namely as an Ex-Situ Wildlife Conservation Institution, all preserved animals in the Animal Museum are obtained not by deliberately hunting but preserved from animals that have died. In addition, the Animal Museum also presents replicas of ancient animals such as Apatosaurus, Tyrannosaurus-Rex, Stegosaurus, Mammoth, and other ancient animal replicas.
In this visit to Jatim Park 2, Social Science education students not only gain new knowledge through the museum but they also see animals that are still alive there unforgettable adventure. This experience not only introduced them to different types of animals, but also took them on a special journey.
