ULM Officially Earns “Excellent” Accreditation from BAN-PT

Banjarmasin – Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) has officially received an “Excellent” accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), solidifying its position as one of Indonesia’s leading universities in education, governance, research, and community service.

The accreditation is formally stated in BAN-PT Decree No. 2171/SK/BAN-PT/Ak/PT/IV/2025, issued on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. ULM Rector, Prof. Ahmad Alim Bachri, expressed his gratitude for this remarkable achievement.

“The decree was officially issued today by BAN-PT, and we are now just awaiting the release of the official certificate,” he stated in Banjarmasin.

This milestone marks a historic moment for ULM, which has long been recognized as a premier state university (PTN) on the island of Kalimantan. The “Excellent” accreditation status is the highest level in the BAN-PT accreditation system, surpassing the former “A” rating, and signifies that the institution meets the highest standards across all academic and institutional aspects.

ULM underwent a re-accreditation process following a request from BAN-PT for a renewed submission, in light of internal developments—including issues related to the professorial titles of several lecturers. In response, the Institutional Accreditation Team (AIPT) at ULM acted swiftly and efficiently, compiling the accreditation documents within just two months, from October to November 2024.

Prof. Alim emphasized that this achievement not only strengthens ULM’s national reputation but also serves as a powerful motivation for the university’s future strategic development. This includes ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure, enhance research quality, and expand community engagement programs.

“This accreditation reflects the aspirations of our entire academic community and the people of South Kalimantan, who hope to see ULM remain a leading reference in higher education,” he affirmed.
