Banjarbaru, November 5, 2025 — A total of 25 students from the Department of Social Science Education (IPS), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM), participated in the fourth Collaborative Learning Activity held at the Lambung Mangkurat Museum, South Kalimantan, on Wednesday (5/11).
This activity is part of the museum’s public program in the field of research and education, with the theme “Reading Malay Arabic Script and Interpreting the Ken Tambuhan Ancient Manuscripts.”
The event took place at the Museum Auditorium from 09:00 WITA until completion. During the activity, participants received explanations on the history and forms of Malay Arabic script, techniques for reading ancient manuscripts, and the cultural values contained in the region’s traditional manuscripts.
The supervising lecturer stated that this activity provides a valuable opportunity for IPS Education students to broaden their understanding of South Kalimantan’s local culture and history, while also supporting contextual learning outside the classroom.
“Through this activity, students can learn directly from historical sources and understand the importance of preserving ancient manuscripts as a part of the nation’s cultural heritage,” the lecturer added.
The fourth Collaborative Learning Activity at the museum is expected to foster students’ interest in local history and scripts, while strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions and cultural organizations in South Kalimantan.
